"Nein""No""不"

Yesterday when I went to the "Ausländerbehörde" for a new visa, I was told to take a "Biometrisches Passfoto", therefore I had to go downstairs to take one on the automatic machine. There I met a German girl wandering and complaining how stupid to take a photo like that--"Nur ein Kopf auf das Bild" (only a head on the photo)! Due to time limit, I asked her whether I could take mine at first. She said yes, as she still needed some time to think over. It really shocked me? Think over? In this case we don't have any options, do we? Then I realized how obedient our people are! I've never met any TONGBAO who would say "no" under such conditions. Actually in that society, people have little chance to say "no". In most cases we have no other choices except obey and obey!
What happened in the city hall reminded me of an article I read some time ago: a German mum is excited when her child starts to say "NEIN". She supposed it is very important for a person.
I was then absorbed in my thoughts how I should parent my future child in the future.
